April Porter graduated from Washington University School of Law and began her career as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, specializing in sexual assault and homicide cases. Her exemplary record led to her appointment as Municipal Judge for the City of Clarkson Valley. She was a rising star in the legal community, but left it behind to follow her entrepreneurial passion.
In 2013, April invested in a kickboxing fitness franchise and grew from one location with a single employee to four locations with 25 employees in less than three years. As a result, her company was named one of the Top 50 Fastest Growing Companies by St. Louis Small Business Monthly in 2016, 2017, and 2018. Through this process, April had extracted herself from the day-to-day operations of the business, freeing her time for expansion into other ventures.
Due to her proven record of success, she gained a following in the St. Louis business community and the national franchisee community. To better serve these small business owners, April founded AP Consulting and began providing strategies, opportunities and solutions to her clients. Her influence grew significantly and she was awarded the Trailblazer award from the American Association of Franchisees and Dealers in 2019.
In 2020, April was asked to contribute to the anthology "Fearless and Fabulous: Finding Your Way Through Change and Beyond" and became an International Best Selling Author. She achieved her goals within her kickboxing facilities and profitably sold that business.
Throughout her journey, April was a client of the Darmill Group's Executive Coaching program. As she moves into a prominent role with this company, she is excited to bring its expertise and support to smart business owners that are ready to exceed their goals.
